★ The method Amazon, Google and top employers ask for
Before you start: why a good STAR story changes your interview
Serious interviews aren’t about “tell me about yourself” any more. They’re about competencies: you’re asked for real examples of your work and they’re scored. The STAR method (Situation · Task · Action · Result) is how you tell those examples so they land, stick and earn points.

At Amazon it’s practically a must: interviews revolve around its Leadership Principles and you’re expected to answer with examples structured in STAR. Their interviewers are trained to score your answer against it. Google, Microsoft and most big employers use the same approach.
